Obituary for Annie G. Rayson

Annie G. Rayson, 83, of Reedsville, passed away at 7:50 p.m., on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at the Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born December 27, 1934, in Granville Twp., Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late George H. Young and Violet K. (Swanger) Young-Johnson. On August 24, 1957 she married her late husband, David W. Rayson, with whom she was blessed to share nearly 53 years of marriage, until he preceded her in death on January 26, 2010.
Surviving are her children: James F. Rayson and his wife Ruth, of Thompsontown, Harry C. Rayson and his wife Debra, of Jersey Shore, Debra S. Fogleman and her husband Larry, of Liverpool, Jeffrey D. Rayson, of Newport, Michael B. Rayson and his wife Sharon, of Mifflintown; siblings, Helen Pennepacker and her husband Jesse, of Reedsville, James Young, John Young and his wife Bonnie, all of Lewistown; and she leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were three sisters, Mary Bowen, Alice Jane Fultz and Dorothy Ream.
Mrs. Rayson was a member of the Centre Lutheran Church, Centre and attends the Barrville Mennonite Church.
In earlier life, she was a cook at Red’s Diner, Lewistown, after which she retired as a cook from the Greenwood School District. During her retirement, she baked pies for her step granddaughter Kim’s various restaurants, including the Corner Deli, Thompsontown, Kim’s Kountry Kitchen, New Bloomfield and the Juniata Junction, Mifflintown
Her hobbies include, camping, playing Kismet and card games, putting together jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, and watching football, especially the Alabama Crimson Tide, “Roll Tide Roll”. Her greatest joy was the time that she spent with her family; she especially cherished her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 17, 2018, from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with Pastor Carl Geissinger officiating. Interment will follow in the Locust Run Cemetery, Thompsontown.
Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
