Obituary for Sherman L Weller

Sherman L Weller
Sherman Lee Weller, 73, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away March 16, 2018, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
He was born in Mineola, New York, on July 9, 1944, the only child of the late William and Virginia (Leonard) Weller.
Lee was a member of the Mt. Carmel High School graduating class of 1962. He went to college and earned an Associate’s Degree in Universal Electronics Maintenance. Lee honorably served in the U.S. Army as a marksman. He received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Lee worked at Snap-On Tools for many years, retiring from there.
Lee was a proud member and elder of The Presbyterian Church and a member of the American Legion. He was an avid fisherman, Fighting Illini and St. Louis Cardinals fan, enjoyed yard sales, auctions and tractor shows. Lee spent many hours at the Senior Citizens Center enjoying lunch and bingo with his friends. He could always be found Monday evenings at Hogg Heaven enjoying the local talent playing blue grass music. Lee enjoyed attending all theater performances at Wabash Valley College.
Left to cherish Lee’s memory are his adopted family, Bob and Ann Winter of Allendale, Illinois, and Eric and Amity Winter of Evansville, Indiana; and many cousins in Pennsylvania.
Lee will be buried by his parents at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018 in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown with the Rev. Graham C. Fowler officiating.
Lee will always be remembered as a very kind and giving person too many friends in the community.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.
