Obituary for Samuel R. Freed III
Samuel R. Freed III, 60, of McAlisterville passed away peacefully at 11:55 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at his residence.
Born on March 19, 1959 in Lewistown, Mifflin Co., he is the son of Beverly L. (Maben) Pearson and his stepfather Walter Pearson of Port Royal and the late Samuel R. Freed Jr. On November 1, 1996 he married his surviving wife, Vicki E. (Meadows) Freed with whom he was blessed to share more than 22 years of marriage.
Sam enjoyed watching NASCAR and football, being an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. When his health permitted, he loved hunting and fishing; however, spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren gave him the most joy.
In addition to his wife, mother and stepfather he is survived by his children, Rob Freed of Harrisburg, Dustin Freed and his wife Trisha of Newport, stepsons, Thomas Ross and his wife Meghan, Fort Belvoir, VA, Jeremy Ross, Jeff Ross both of Lewistown, siblings, Terry Little and her husband Dean of Mifflintown, David Freed and his wife Robin of Zebulon, NC, Jon Freed and his wife Brenda of Ephrata; and nine grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his trusty four legged friend and companion, his loving dog Ginger.
All services and interment will be private.
