Obituary for Clifford A. "Dewey" Kerlin



Clifford A. “Dewey” Kerlin, 71, of Mifflintown, passed away at 9:04 PM, Monday, April 27, 2020 at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Born on June 1, 1948 in Derry Twp., Mifflin County, he is a son of the late Arthur D. and Remona E. “Mona” (Schlegel) Kerlin.

On February 12, 1977, he married his surviving wife, Doris Ann (Bell) Kerlin with whom he was blessed to share over 43 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: his children, Andrea “Andee Jo” Hoven and her partner Debra Ravey of Sun Prairie, WI, Nicholus Kerlin and his companion Donna Royer of Mifflintown, Kerry Kerlin and his wife Brianne of Deland, FL; a brother, Ronald Kerlin and his wife Patricia of Emlenton; and he leaves behind seven grandchildren, Chason, Bryce, Madison, Candy, Maci, Paige, and Logan; also two great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Keith Kerlin.

Mr. Kerlin was a 1967 graduate of Juniata Joint High School in Mifflintown, a Methodist by faith, and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 925 in Millerstown.

He retired with 30 plus years of service from Roadway Express, Mechanicsburg.

Dewey loved football, following the Oakland Raiders and the Penn State Nittany Lions. He also loved basketball, following the Boston Celtics and Duke University. He had a fondness for collecting Ford memorabilia, traveling to the beach, and he adored his cats.

All services will be private with interment taking place at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Cemetery, Licking Creek.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Kerlin’s memory can be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O Box F, Mifflin, PA 17058.
