Obituary for Robert E. "Bob" Cameron


Robert “Bob” Eugene Cameron, 90, of Millerstown passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2020. He was born August 26, 1929 and was the son of the late Simon and Beulah (Sausman) Cameron. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Andrea (Crist) Cameron and their five children: son Robert “Bobby” Cameron (JoAnna), daughter Christine McLaughlin (Steve), daughter Gretchen Clifton (Patrick), daughter Heidi Woltman (Jim) and son Simon Cameron (Ashley) along with his seven grandchildren and one step grandchild: Katie and Jim McLaughlin, Lydia and Owen Cameron, J.J. Kozlowsky, and Siobhan, Cora and Aria Cameron. Bob was one of eight children and was proceeded in death by brother Donald Cameron, brother Myles Cameron, sister Ruth Reidenbaugh, sister Mildred Alexander, and infant sister Mary Jane Cameron. He is survived by his brothers Harold and Raymond Cameron.
Bob is a graduate of Greenwood High School and served in the Army from 1947-1949. He completed both barber and Ken-Dell Cosmetology School. Alongside his wife, they opened Cameron Barber and Beauty Shop outside of Millerstown. He also had his realtor license and worked on the docks at Central Storage and Transfer.
Bob enjoyed gardening, working on his tractors, going for coffee, cooking breakfast, buying doughnuts for his grandchildren, hunting and butchering. He attended Thompsontown Baptist Church and was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He served as the past Master of Tennis Lodge and past High-Priest of the Royal Arch Chapter. Bob was also a member of the Tall Cedars, Zembo Shrine, Coudersport Consistory, Perry Valley Grange, Millerstown Moose, Millerstown VFW, Thompsontown Amvets, and he was a TKE brother.
Bob will be remembered for his love and pride of family, the many gatherings at the Cameron pavilion, his colorful storytelling, and his frequent doughnut outings with his grandchildren. Bob will also be remembered for trying to fight the Corona with Coors Lt; Coors Lt lost, but it was a good fight.
A Celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Simon Cameron Residence,
20 Lawson Lane, Millerstown, PA 17062.
