Obituary for Mary E. Weyandt

Mary E. Weyandt, 90, of the Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown and formerly of Mifflintown, passed away at 4:52 PM, Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Brookline.
Born on February 3, 1930 in East Salem, she is a daughter of the late Ira and Esther (Shallenberger) Lauver. On June 23, 1951 she married her late husband Charles E. Weyandt with whom she was blessed to share more than 24 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on February 9, 1976.
Surviving are: a daughter, Susan K. Becker, of Mifflintown, Siblings, Fay Shelley, of McAlisterville, Harold Lauver and his wife Donna, of East Salem, a grandson, Steven C. Becker and his wife Missy, of Mifflintown, and she leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Mallie and Landry.
A son, Charles S. “Steve” Weyandt, a son-in-law, Harry J. “Tusser” Becker, III, a sister, Kathleen Bitting, along with her parents and husband, preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Fayette High School and her memberships included the Arch Rock United Methodist Church, Gov. Mifflin Chapter No. 260, Order of the Eastern Star, the American Legion Post No. 298 Ladies Aux., and the Crawford-Brubaker VFW Post No. 5863 Ladies Aux., all of Mifflintown.
In earlier life, she worked at Empire Kosher Poultry after which she was employed at Brookline Manor and later, she worked at Kauffman’s Diner, all of Mifflintown, but most of her married life she was a homemaker.
Mary enjoyed reading, baking, cooking, and spending time with her family.
All Services will be private with Pastor Gerald Miller officiating and internment will be in the East Salem Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville.
