Donna L. Shelley, 90, of McAlisterville, passed away at 2:35 PM on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Messiah Lifeways in Mechanicsburg.

Born on August 3, 1932 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, she is a daughter of the late Clarence R. and Maude (Rickenbaugh) Fogleman. On October 7, 1950 in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in McAlisterville, she married her surviving husband, Dale S. Shelley, with whom she was blessed to share more than 72 years of marriage before her passing.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Randall L. Shelley and his wife Barbara of Mechanicsburg, Steven S. Shelley and his wife Lynn of Everett, and Dana L. Passmore and her husband Michael of Mechanicsburg; six grandchildren, Brock Shelley and his wife Joanna, Sheena Dellinger and her husband Andrew, Jason Shelley and his wife Vicki, Stacey Clark and her husband Chris, Madison Passmore, and Ben Passmore; and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael D. Shelley.

Mrs. Shelley was a 1950 graduate of Fayette High School in McAlisterville and was a proud homemaker whose greatest accomplishment was her family.

She attended the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in McAlisterville and was very active in different organizations within the church for many years.

Donna met her husband, Dale, in the fifth grade and ended up getting married at the age of 18 when Dale was in the Navy. She lovingly raised four children while being active within her church. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Cancun, Mexico and the beach, and filled her days by doing daily devotions, swimming in her pool, and shopping. Anyone who met her was drawn to her gentle soul, big smile, and her fashionable clothes.

She will be greatly missed by everyone that crossed paths with her.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 420 Main St., McAlisterville with Pastor Karen Ward officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the Church.
