Obituary for Betty L. Arentz



Betty L. Arentz, 80, of Mifflin went to be with her Lord and Savior at 12:50 AM, Friday, March 31, 2023 at the Greenwood Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Lewistown.

Born on December 31, 1942 in Tuscarora Twp., Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Maxwell H. and Irene (Buchanan) Woodward. On May 11, 1962, she married her late husband, the Rev. Harry L. Arentz, with whom she was blessed to share more than 52 years of marriage before his passing on October 13, 2014

She is survived by two sons, Richard M. “Rick” Arentz, of Mifflin, Timothy S. Arentz of Mifflintown; two grandsons, Kyle Levan Arentz and Zachary Thomas Arentz; and one sister, Anna R. Burdge and her companion Steve of Honey Grove; and one sister in law, Edna Woodward of Honey Grove.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Harold L. Woodward.

Mrs. Arentz was a 1960 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown.

She was a member and had attended Stony Run Mission Church, McAlisterville and enjoyed gardening in her flower garden, decorating for all the holidays, and spending time with her family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at the Stony Run Mission Church, 2825 Evendale Hill Road, McAlisterville with the Rev. Nicholas Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Nook.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the church.

Box 862, Carnegie, PA 15106-0762, or to Greenwood Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, 276 Green Ave Ext., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.
