Obituary for Janet M. Henry
Janet M Henry, 79, of Mifflintown passed away at 5:15 AM, Monday, May 1,2023 at her residence.
Born on June 7,1943 in Derry Twp., Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late Elmer Gray and Lademia (McCullough) Gray. On September 17,1960 she married her husband, David G. Henry, with whom she was blessed to share more than 62 years of marriage.
She is survived by her daughter Karen Shearer and husband, John, sons Kevin Henry, Brian Henry and wife, Lisa. Siblings David Gray, Linda Bowers and George Gray. She was also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Gray, a sister Joyce Suter and a son, Steven Henry.
Janet was a cook at various places throughout her life and did cake decorating on the side. Earlier in life she worked at a sewing factory.
She was a member and had attended Heaven Bound Church, Mifflintown and enjoyed gardening, traveling, and listening to country music. Janet loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 5, 2023 at the Heaven Bound Church, 25 South Ridge Road, Mifflintown with Pastor Casey Hostler and The Rev. Dennis R. Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in McCulloch’s Mills Cemetery, Honey Grove.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Henry’s memory may be made to DaVita Lewistown Dialysis Center, 611 Electric Avenue, Lewistown, PA 17044.
