Obituary for Robert W. "Bob" Dillman Sr.

Robert W. "Bob" Dillman, Sr., 66, of Middleburg, passed away at 4:02 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born on January 25, 1957 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he was the son of the late Gervis "Red" Dillman and Marion E. (Eckard) Dillman.

He is survived by his ex-wife and close friend, Yvonne Clegg of Harrisburg; children Jordan Clegg and companion Ashley of Shiremanstown, Robert Dillman, Jr. and companion Toni of Middleburg, and Ahleah Hoover and husband Kyler, of Middleburg; grandchildren Liam and Quinn; siblings Sherry Dillman of McAlisterville, Thomas Nicolay of Arizona, Gervis "Pete" Thompson and wife Stacey of Illinois, Larue Strope of Arizona, and Wanda J. Auffret, of Arizona; nieces Beth Ann Austin and husband Justin of McAlisterville, Wanda Blevins and husband Brian of Red Lion, Coleen Ness and husband Clyde of Red Lion, Laurie Reichard of Red Lion, Cheryl Stine of Red Lion, Joy Dillman of Arizona, and Jill Stull and husband Todd of Hollidaysburg; great-nephews Isaac, Ryan, Nathan, and Adam; and great-nieces Cadence, Valerie, Kelly, Trina, and Ashley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Zoey Grace; two brothers, George Dillman and Jack Dillman; and a nephew, Glen Dillman.

Bob was a 1974 graduate of Juniata High School, where he enjoyed playing trumpet in the band, and was referred to in his senior yearbook as "our own Al Hirt". During his time in high school, he was honored to volunteer his time to play TAPS on his trumpet for military services at Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery.

Earlier in life, Bob was employed by Armstrong Cabinets as a mill operator. He had also previously worked for Shaw Pipe.

Bob loved the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, rock and roll, blues, cooking, playing his Fender guitar, fishing, camping, classic cars, being Little Chicago's biggest fan, poker, and interacting on Facebook, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He had a quick wit and a sharp sense of humor, and loved making those around him laugh.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 20 at 11 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 208 Lemon Street, Mifflintown, with the Rev. Samuel J. Leister officiating. Interment will be private.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 19 from 5-7 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Mifflintown.

The family will be providing all funeral flowers and kindly ask that memorial contributions in Mr. Dillman's memory be made to Beth Ann Austin, 1315 Main Street, McAlisterville, PA 17049.
